One person has died when a jeep was swept away by the Koili River in Kapilvastu . According to the Area Police Office, Pipra, the driver of the jeep, Madhav Prasad Pandey, 35, died in the accident. Two have gone missing. According to the Area Police Office, Pipra, the missing persons are Krishna Prasad Poudel, Chief of Power Distribution Center No. 4 and Keshav Bhat Chhetri. Three of the six passengers in the jeep have managed to survive by swimming. District Police and Armed Police Force were deployed to rescue the jeep after it sank in the river. According to Arjun Dhakal, Inspector at Armed Police Base Pipra, the body of the driver was recovered from inside the jeep. A team of District Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army has been deployed at the spot to rescue the victims, said Kapilvastu Police Chief Nawaraj Adhikari.
