Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, has said that the country has reached the stage of declaring complete electrification. Speaking at a press conference held at the central office of the Electricity Authority on Friday, Director Ghising said this.

Eight years ago, there were 29 lakh 70 thousand electricity customers, now it has reached 59 lakh 35 thousand, including community ones. “Electrification is being done by identifying bad slums,” Executive Director Ghising said, “Now the country has reached the stage of declaring complete electrification soon.”

He said that in the financial year 2072/73, the electrification status is only 58 percent. He said that before the start of his second term (three years ago), the electrification status in the country was 89 percent. He said that now electrification in the country has reached 99 percent.
