48 citizens, including three Nepalis, have been arrested for illegally trespassing on government land and cultivating durian fruit in the Pahang state of Malaysia.

Here on August 6th, in an operation conducted by the local police, they encroached on government land in a place called Roub in Pahang and arrested all of them, along with 3 Nepalese, citizens of Bengali, Myanmar and other countries who have been illegally cultivating durian and other fruits together with the local Orang Asli and Melayus since last year. Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahya Othman said.

Police Chief Datuk Seri Yahya Othman said that after consultation and investigation with agencies including the Pahang Province Enforcement Unit (UPNP) and the District Forest Office, as well as three cases under section 447 for the offense of trespassing on government land, the investigation has been carried forward.

According to the police chief, as the court has confirmed that the land here belongs to the state government, we are implementing the court order to prohibit immoral and illegal activities. ” Now in other places of Pahang, those who illegally encroach and cultivate without taking permission will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
