KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed the commitment to provide the necessary support to revive and revitalize the industries and economy impacted by COVID-19.
During a meeting with the office-bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today, he said the new government will work to bring the economy back to track, and urged the private sector to move forward confidently.
Members of the FNCCI delegation led by Chairperson Shekhar Golcha said the industrial sector should be given priority in COVID-19 vaccination, and the programs focused on the private sector in the budget should be implemented effectively.
The FNCCI delegation today also met Finance Minister Janardan Sharma and put forth their demands and recommendations.
In response, Finance Minister Sharma expressed the commitment to provide every possible support including vaccines to the private sector.
He also pledged to take the private sector into confidence, and implement the recommendations of the FNCCI.
Senior FNCCI Vice-president Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Vice-chairs Dinesh Shrestha, Anjan Shrestha, and Ram Chandra Sanghai were present on the occasion.
