Lalitpur: Due to the fog, flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to various districts in the Terai and remote areas have been affected.

Flights to Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and other destinations in the Terai have been affected for the past two days.

Though domestic flights were affected by the thick fog, international flights were normal, the airport officials said.

Airport spokesperson Dev Chandra Lal Karna said flights to most destinations in the Terai were affected due to inclement weather.

According to him, 40 flights out of 88 scheduled in the Terai and hilly airports were canceled on Monday.

Passengers have been suffering a lot after the cancellation of flights of Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Shree Airlines, and other companies. Passengers have been stranded at the airport all day after the flight was canceled.

According to Yeti Airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula, four flights were canceled in Biratnagar, three in Simara, two in Bharatpur, one each in Nepalgunj and Tumlingtar on Monday. The flight to Biratnagar and Bhadrapur scheduled for today has not been completed yet. There are four flight schedules in Biratnagar.
