A Nepali student has drowned in Australia. The deceased has been identified as Sachit Bimli, 27, of Biratnagar, who drowned in a pond in Sydney, Australia.
According to Australian television Nine News, Bimli died while swimming in the Watamola Pond in the Royal National Park on Monday afternoon.
Police, firefighters, paramedics and surf lifesavers found Bimli’s body at a depth of seven meters 40 minutes later. Because there are rocks, there are warning signs, where people are told not to play in the river below.
He had been living with his sister in Sydney’s Arwan. Sachet’s nephew Meghraj Bhattarai said that the incident took place on Monday.
It is said that the family members including the sister became distraught after the news of the drowning. Another young man drowned in the lake and managed to get out on his own.
According to Bhattarai, he had gone to Australia for conscientious study. He was studying for a master’s degree in IT at the famous Macquarie University in Australia. Arriving in Australia in July 2019, Bimli was studying for a master’s degree in IT at the renowned Macquarie University.
