Whatever we earn, 98/99 percent of it is spent on food, clothing and vehicles. We are blindly spending the earnings we have earned through various hard work. We have to be careful about spending hard earned money. What material are we spending on? Are we being lazy and misleading? Is it necessary? How much attention have we paid to the things we are using? Today, the alarm bells are ringing, but we are still not aware. One of the doctors said to me about this situation, ‘Nowadays, people are more healthy than when they are sick.’ It is surprising how healthy people are. To stay healthy, we eat only fruits, vegetables and milk, but how good are they? Pesticides have also been used in the vegetables and fruits that we eat. Even those things cannot make us completely healthy. We are not aware of what we are consuming today. Neither do you know where that thing came from nor who made that thing? We are not concerned with how healthy the fish we eat is. We should know the source of what we eat. Now we are consuming low quality products in the name of attractive advertisements. Whether it is in attractive packaging, whether it is in the name of modernity, we have gone astray. We have been misled in the name of modernity in such a way that we have forgotten what we should do in terms of consumers. Take for example chips that come in attractive wrappers. We are paying more for the shell than for the chips inside. Manufacturers are also spending more on packaging than on the product itself. We are all falling into consumerism in the name of modernity.
