14 people died when an Indian bus fell into Marsyangdi river from Aina Pahara in Ambukhaireni of Tanahun.

Co-spokesperson of the Armed Police and DSP Shailendra Thapa informed that the bodies of 14 people were removed from the scene by 1 pm.

Armed Police Co-Spokesperson Thapa informed that 16 injured people were rescued from the scene. On Friday morning, the UP 53 FT 7623 bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu fell into the Marsyangdi River from a place called Ainapahara in Tanahun. The bus is stuck on the river bank.

The police said that there was a huge casualty in the bus accident. Tanahun DSP Deepak Kumar Rai said that the number of dead and injured may increase as the rescue operation continues. According to him, there were 43 people including the driver and co-driver in the bus.

A team of 45 people including 10 divers and 35 people from No. 23 Manakamana Gana Bhanu Tanahun under the command of SSP Madhav Paudel from Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School have been mobilized for rescue.

Since the place of the incident is steep and difficult, the rescuers reached the place of the bus with the help of a rope and are active in the rescue.
