Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has said that a letter has been sent to the relevant ministry to deduct the land tax that was erroneously acquired in the name of a specific person within the jurisdiction of the Tukucha river. On Friday, Mayor Shah informed about this through the social network Facebook. He said this after the road connecting Mahendra Shalik-Kathmandu Plaza on Darbarmarg was washed away.
He said that there are still some houses on the Tukucha river and emphasized that the government should cut down the logs as soon as possible and give proper compensation or compensation to create an environment where the rights of the river will be handed over to the river itself.
Sharing the video of the broken road over the Tukucha River on Friday, he said-
This is the road over Tukucha. A few more houses are standing on top of Tukucha like this. “Kathmandu Metropolis some time ago, seeing the same risk, we started the work of opening the culvert to open the river. Something had to be stopped due to court reasons. After the court’s order, we have sent a letter to the relevant ministry to deduct the land tax in accordance with the law, which was mistakenly acquired in the name of a specific person within the jurisdiction of Tukucha river.
The government should create an environment in which the rights of the river will be handed over to the river itself by giving proper compensation or compensation as soon as possible. After this, the metropolis will proceed with the opening of the river immediately. Everyone should know that people should build a bridge over the river according to their needs, not houses and roads over the river.
